Somehow this cabinet leant itself to one design going top to bottom over the whole front and we chose this pyramid with inca sun design which Paul created - the suns and orbs of light all over it make it have a planetary feel, and in true Lazarus style the interior has a surprise pop of colour with the canary yellow - the suns are dappled with gold leaf and the sun on the front has been highlighted so beautifully by Paul that it feels 3D and looks like old bronzed metal. The wording inside this piece is “Immortal Aspects of Man” which was very much a part of the ancient Inca culture, and something which fascinated us and echoed the artwork’s theme.
