New York Fashion Art Event at the Norwood Members Club, Manhattan.
So excited to be back in New York City. Apart from London this has to be one of the most vibrant and creative cities in the whole world. It has such a natural buzz about it and of course even more so during New York fashion week. The place is exudes creativity and beauty! It felt so natural to be there championing artist and artist talent at the Private Members Norwood club, Manhattan in line with New York Fashion Week.
Salih, hails from a “Mad Men” -seque background, having illustrated and painted for almost every agency and brand you can think of. Influenced and inspired by Masters such as Sergeant, Reynolds, Varga, Robert McGinnis and Robert G.Harris, his boldly painted portraits are created from a truly unique colour palette merged with an experimental approach to this traditional genre. Salih has been continuously evolving his style as a contemporary artist in his ownright. The illustration based background is reflected in the hyper-real and graphic nature of the work. The accuracy and sophistication of his images is posted by a clear passion for painting. He is highly expressive, his work is provocative and sexy, yet able to capture the intimacy and sunny ability of his subjects at the same time. The relationship between artist and sitter is one of these and trust, resulting in a sense of individuality and character that shine through these beautifully alluring portraits. Primarily created with oil paint, he also fuses his work with and conventional elements such as cement and rusty nails resulting in stunningly adventurous work so far that use with passion. Looking for a hero is an original featuring Marilyn Monroe wearing a diamond mask. Personally signed by the artist. To see further works by these artists please head over to our Art viewing room.
We welcomed over 600 guess to our event… Including many Jen why millennial is who we have seen in bracing out investment and increasing numbers. While getting on the property ladder especially major cities like London is proving more challenging for this demographic, they have astutely understood the art investment is a more accessible way to see the money appreciate.
